Herlocker Family // Charleston

I don't often make it known that I photograph things and people outside of weddings. But the more I thought about it, I realized that these 'other' things I photograph also tell stories. They might be the stories of women halfway across the world, or of dear friends/neighbors of mine being total #girlbosses but regardless, there's no reason I can't share those stories here.

So this, my fellow internet readers, is the Herlocker family. I met Mary when she and I were in high school and we reconnected years later in college while she was dominating our Biology class where I was getting C's and D's. Fast forward to today and these five are traveling across the country in an airstream they completely gutted, designed and re-built themselves. Admire the beauty in their craft here and then follow along with their adventures as they unfold over the next few months.

Anna // Bridals // Charleston

I've had a handful of friends, that after they've gotten engaged, don't give me a choice about my role in their wedding. They want me by their side at the altar, no questions asked. And although I have a moment of being bummed that I won't be able to make beautiful photos of them, I'm thankful for their desire for me to be able to enjoy a wedding and be a member of it all unfolding on the day instead of working it.

This past Saturday, I got to stand beside my sweet friend Anna as she and Don were married. I've known Don since high school and Anna since college so when their two worlds collided last year, it was so surreal!

Aa few weeks before the wedding, we wandered around downtown Charleston for Anna's bridal session. Anna's Nova Lace BHLDN gown fit perfectly (seriously! No alterations needed!) and her look was complete with a dried flower crown from Flowershop.

These sessions…I'm so honored and thankful for them.

Introducing Mrs. Donald Bruner.

Maeve // Maternity // Charleston

There are some families that I just adore.

Maeve, Derrick, Blaise, Posie, Hesper and (to-be-baby-boy) are some of those people and one of those families

So when Maeve and I talked about shooting some more moody maternity pictures, I jumped at the opportunity.

And hey, if these guys let me dress them up and style them for a this shoot last year, and are already total babes, I knew these photos would turn out amazing

Lovelovelove!
