Kathlyn+Andy // Married // Charleston

Kathlyn and Andy were married at the Creek Club in I'on on a Saturday that originally had an 80% chance of rain. Of course, come the day, there wasn't a drop in sight. Kathleen and Andy, thank you for giving me so much time for portraits and letting me pull the "one last shot" routine time and time again. It's never just one last shot.

PS-Per usual, Branch Design Studio knocked it out of the park with their florals!

Kendal+Josh // Married // Charleston

I always tell my couples that the more they let me into their lives building up to their wedding, the better photos I'm able to make. Kendal and Josh were no exception there! We hung out over drinks before heading out to their beach engagement session, Kendal kept me constantly in the loop about her day-of plans and let me email her a ton about the wedding day.

So when I arrived to The Island House to find Kendal's hair being crimped, her aunt finishing a lavender flower crown and beautifully draped arbor, I was giddy with excitement (but not surprised)!

PS-Seth Dunlap documented Kendal+Josh's entire day and did this same day edit before the reception even started-make sure to check it out!

Let's have at it!

As always

Molly+Jeff // Married // Charleston

Molly and Jeff's wedding was the first of my 2016 and came with bittersweet feelings; bitter because I was so sad it was going to be over but sweet because we all had been waiting so long for this day! I first spent time with these two getting coffee at 6:00am before their engagement session. Our evening options had been rained out and they put themselves together at the crack of dawn to make some amazing photos. We were bathed in golden, morning light the entire time and I couldn't have been more giddy! So come March 12, it was no surprise that their marsh side ceremony at the Creek Club at I'on was stunning. Everything went off without a hitch, we had beautiful golden light (again) and I heard some of the best toasts to these two that I've heard in a long while.

Ok, enough of all of that, let's do this!

Katie+Scott // Married // Charleston

I met Katie not too long ago and yet feel so, so close and understood by her. After only meeting a handful of times in person, we traveled to Togo together to do work with Francis+Benedict this past November. As we spent two 22-hour flights and seven days being together 24/7 in a foreign and developing country, I knew we'd be (and stay) good friends. And anyone that you can be with for that long without going crazy almost immediately becomes one of your people.

So of course, I insisted on photographing Katie and her husband, Scott. They've been married almost 16 years, having met in third grade and reconnected over email in early adulthood. A few months later, after not having seen each other in years, they were engaged.

16 years, 4 kids, so many moves, numerous houses and a pair of killer overalls later...we're here.

I love you guys.

Julia+Will // Engaged // Charleston

Most people know that I do my engagement sessions a little bit differently, so often they end up feeling less like work and more like play. Julia and Will were no exception: Drinks, followed by downtown Charleston exploring, and ending with a long walk to the end of Folly Beach. I know that I click with a couple when we never stop talking: about everything from dogs to family to the most random of stories.

December 3: we're so excited for you to be here!
