For anyone who has been following my work for a while now most likely recognizes these two from a post I wrote years ago on my old blog. I've known Erin since we were in the same first grade class and we've stayed friends since. We've been roommates and I am often over to her apartment to visit her sweet kitty and roommates. Typically if I look back at photos I shot years ago, I notice all the small things I wished I would have known at the time, noticing only the most ridiculous details. And yet, I took these photos almost two and a half years ago and I still love them! Even though Erin and Adam have changed so much since then, I'm so glad (and I know they'd say the same) that we took these photos in this season of their life. The fabulous Elizabeth Messina really sold me on encouraging engagement portraits after reading a piece she wrote for The Huffington Post. This season of your life will never happen again! That right there is enough reason to document it. That aside, Erin and Adam are getting married this weekend and I'm beyond ecstatic to be photographing it. I was able go with Erin when she picked out her dress and can't wait to see Adam see her in it (I'm holding my tongue on so many details I want to share right now!). I remember sharing this lyric from Mumford & Sons the last time I wrote about these two and think it is still perfectly fitting. Such a beautiful depiction of the love that we all deserve and the process that it takes to get there.
"There will come a time, you'll see with no more tears and love will not break your heart, but dismiss your fears. Get over your hill and see what you find there with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair."
