Wythe Hotel and Hoxton Hotel Wedding - Brooklyn Wedding Photographer | Grace and Greg
Grace and Greg’s Modern Brooklyn Wedding
Grace and Greg’s modern Brooklyn wedding was my first wedding of 2020…and my last for a while. Right when I landed in NYC, New York started to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First it was Broadway, followed by museums and by the time I flew out, all restaurants had shut down as well. Just two days before they were set to get married Grace and Greg had to make decisions that would flip the entire weekend upside down. Regardless, they approached the day with such grace and peace. Grace got ready in a Wythe Hotel suite with floor to ceiling windows that was wildly inspiring while Greg got ready next door at the Hoxton Hotel. The Hoxton certainly served their booties off, giving Grace and Greg a space for their ceremony when they had to find a new spot a mere 48hours beforehand. After exchanging vows, Grace changed into a banging wedding jumpsuit and we walked to Sunday in Brooklyn, where they joined their family for a family style dinner and speeches that had everyone’s eyes foggy.
Things didn’t go anywhere near as planned. But shifted wedding plans don’t diminish a couples’ commitment to one another and the story that brought them there. Contrary to what most think, this day most likely solidified Grace and Greg’s relationship. If you can get married during a quarantine, what else can’t be done?
