Wythe Hotel and Hoxton Hotel Wedding - Brooklyn Wedding Photographer | Grace and Greg

Grace and Greg’s Modern Brooklyn Wedding

Grace and Greg’s modern Brooklyn wedding was my first wedding of 2020…and my last for a while. Right when I landed in NYC, New York started to shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. First it was Broadway, followed by museums and by the time I flew out, all restaurants had shut down as well. Just two days before they were set to get married Grace and Greg had to make decisions that would flip the entire weekend upside down. Regardless, they approached the day with such grace and peace. Grace got ready in a Wythe Hotel suite with floor to ceiling windows that was wildly inspiring while Greg got ready next door at the Hoxton Hotel. The Hoxton certainly served their booties off, giving Grace and Greg a space for their ceremony when they had to find a new spot a mere 48hours beforehand. After exchanging vows, Grace changed into a banging wedding jumpsuit and we walked to Sunday in Brooklyn, where they joined their family for a family style dinner and speeches that had everyone’s eyes foggy.

Things didn’t go anywhere near as planned. But shifted wedding plans don’t diminish a couples’ commitment to one another and the story that brought them there. Contrary to what most think, this day most likely solidified Grace and Greg’s relationship. If you can get married during a quarantine, what else can’t be done?

Modern Thomas Bennett House and Zero George Wedding - Charleston Wedding Photographer | Cait and Mike

Cait and Mike’s modern southern Thomas Bennett House wedding

From the beginning, Cait and Mike were all in. Right when we got together for drinks before their engagement session and then parted ways three hours later, I was in love with these guys. Spanning their invitations to the working on their timeline together, I felt so valued and trusted the entire process. As a photographer, that's one of the biggest compliments. It's another way of a couple saying "We see you as an artist and we trust you to document our day beautifully and truthfully."

And now we're here. A month to the day after their wedding and I'm wanting to do it all over again.

Zero George was the perfect spot for Mike and his groomsmen to get ready and for Cait and Mike’s first look. Meanwhile, Cait and her crew of ladies were getting ready at the Thomas Bennett House, where they’d be exchanging vows a few hours later. Oh and Cait’s Hayley Paige dress…yeah, I’m obsessed with the back of it too.

Thankful and honored, I introduce you to the new Mr. and Mrs. McDonnell.
