Dewberry Hotel Wedding - Charleston Wedding Photographer | Justin and Tim

justin and tim’s dewberry hotel charleston wedding

I remember my initial call with Justin and Tim and felt like such kindred spirits. They were the kind of easy-going that I didn’t have any qualms about being my true self so come their November Dewberry Hotel wedding in Charleston, South Carolina, that same sense of ease carried over. Fox Events brought their vision to life, perfectly balancing a masculine and feminine energy for their reception dinner and flipping their ceremony space to a dinner setting in record time. Justin+Tim, I can’t wait until we cross paths in the South again!

Devil's Thumb Ranch Winter Wedding - Colorado Wedding Photographer | Diana and Brian

Diana and Brian’s devil’s thumb ranch wedding

Diana and Brian met on Bumble during the pandemic-did you know that over half of couples today meet on dating apps?! Even though they were only a few miles apart in New York City, it makes you wonder if they would have ever crossed paths if it weren’t for the dating app Gods! Wanting their weekend to be a getaway for all of their family and friends who would be celebrating alongside them, they decided upon Devil’s Thumb Ranch for their Winter Park wedding.

When I arrived in Winter Park the evening prior, the temperatures were in the negatives so it wasn’t surprising to see feet of snow on Saturday for their Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding! Diana wore a longsleeve Kleinfeld’s gown and both she and Brian had snow boots so they could easily tromp through the snowy landscape for portraits.

So honored that these two city dwellers chose me for their Devil’s Thumb Ranch wedding photographer!

Handsome Hollow Wedding - Catskills New York Wedding Photographer | Renae and Steven

Renae and Steven’s Handsome Hollow Wedding

I remember talking with Renae and Steven ages ago about their vision for the weekend: they had rented this dreamy rustic wedding venue in Upstate New York and were inviting only the most intimate of family and friends to celebrate alongside them. Almost a year and a half later once their weekend finally came, their wedding at Handsome Hollow didn’t disappoint. It was a muggy day but I don’t think I heard one complaint from Renae and Steven because it was finally here. It was time for Renae to wear the dress, for Steven to open the Tudor watch Renae gifted him, for the ketubah to be signed and to dance to their song because it was their wedding day. I have a handful of images where Renae has tears in her eyes-the point before they fall onto her cheeks-simply from the joy the entire day held.

Handsome Hollow, I hope to see you again for a Catskills wedding. Renae and Steven, I hope to see you again for some baby portraits.

Cheers to the Bosoy’s!

Accelerator Space Wedding - Baltimore, Maryland Wedding Photographer | Kristin and Ben

Kristin and Ben’s Baltimore Accelerator Space Wedding

Kristin and Ben are so…easy. That may seem like such a simple term to use but that’s truly what it felt like being around them. Their engagement session in New York City felt light and easy and that smoothly carried through to their Baltimore wedding day. Years before this day though, Ben got into a PhD program and Kristin, after a year of dating long-distance, picked up her life and followed Ben to Baltimore. They collected postcards from all of the places they’d traveled together-writing journal-like entries on the backs of the cards-and their handwritten vows were a reflection of their continual postcard-journaling.

We met at Rawlings Conservatory for a first look and then headed into town for their Accelerator Space wedding and reception. I know I brag about my couples all the time but it’s couples like Kristin and Ben that continue to remind me of how this job is truly an honor. I don’t have bridezillas or “crazy” Mother-of-the-bride’s; I only have gracious and kind couples. Kristin and Ben were no exception.

Congratulations to the Stephens’!

Estes Park Mountain Winter Wedding - Estes Park Wedding Photographer | Alix and Matt

Alix and Matt’s Estes Park Mountain Wedding

I always have a bit of nerves when I photograph friends’ weddings; it’s a mix of wanting to do a good job, wanting to make sure they’re comfortable and trying to be cool and collected. Alix and Matt’s day was no exception when I started feeling anxious and flustered before even starting the day. Those feelings melted away as I walked in-between cabins at Black Canyon Inn to start photography coverage for their Estes Park wedding. The wind and freezing temperatures thwarted my original plans to have a beautiful backdrop of Estes Park for their wedding portraits but despite the gusty winds, we prevailed (if only for a few minutes at a time). Black Canyon Inn was such a neat backdrop for the wedding weekend, with everything taking place on the grounds, we barely needed a reason to leave.

Cheers to the Jordan’s!
